For discovering issues with the gall bladder or liver, which option would be better, a CAT scan or MRI and why? With or without contrast dye?Bloods tests show nothing, ultrasound nothing.pain right below sternum, and RUQ. Willing to pay for a good technique to find it.Any thoughts?

Not an expert - but after researching this topic it looks like MRI can provide better images in some cases. http://www.medhelp.org/forums/gastro/arc.The dye used in MRI scan has less chance of side-effects than a CAT scan:http://www.medhelp.org/perl6/neuro/archi.Another disadvantage of CAT scans is the radiation exposure ( namely x-ray radiation ).Note that you can't have an MRI if you have any metal hardware in you - you will get screen for that.
CAT scan
